The Pistons Academy Camp Tour, powered by Kroger, stops this week in Bloomfield Hills for the 16th straight summer. This is traditionally one of the most popular summer camps with 125 kids in attendance!
Tuesday at the Ultimate Hoops Week Camp in Bloomfield Hills was a day of big shots, big baskets and fantastic finishes. On many occasions, players knocked down shots under ultimate pressure proving they had ice in their veins. “There were some high intensity plays today,” said Coach Jake Thomas of the Red Division, “It was fun to watch the teams come together for big wins.”
Perhaps no win was more memorable than in the Red Division with the Bulls and Heat tied at 2-2. Just as the clock went off there was a foul leaving Joey Hesano on the line to shoot two from the free throw line. “His first shot was long and bounced off the back of the rim. However, his second shot was all net and Hesano won the game for his team with no time on the clock. The Red Division fans went wild!
In the FT contest, Merrick Michaelson and Henry Jackson share the lead with 18 points. However, there are six shooters that are within three points of the lead including Erica Mayry who leads all girls with 17pts. FT Scores for Blue/White Divisions are posted here: FT Standings WB
