Holiday Hoopmania Hits Halfway Point

December 28th, 2016

The 2016 Pistons Academy Holiday Hoopmania basketball camp, presented by Kroger, at the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield finished up day #2 of 4 of Tuesday. The campers arrived bright and early for another great day of Pistons Academy basketball camp. Following Monday’s preseason action, where much of the day was spent setting the tone and getting to know the campers, we jumped right into the Hoopmania madness on Tuesday! “Right from the first whistle of the day and our morning welcome, these kids were full of energy and ready to go,” said Camp Director Bryan Bollin. “You could really tell that the campers wanted to impress the coaches and earn themselves some MVP points.”

The race for Camp MVP continued on Tuesday, as several players were able to build on their strong start to the week. Daniel Green and Jack Flood are atop the MVP standings, with 21 and 18 points, respectively. Tuesday’s Player of the Day, Maggie Hilliard, jolted up the MVP standings as she is now tied with Amit Siegmann and Aaron Thomas for third place with 14 points. Maggie’s work ethic and positive attitude helped her claim today’s honor. Chase Wilson was our other Player of the Day, as he did well in team play and free throw shooting while displaying a great attitude and good sportsmanship.

There have been several great performances so far this week, but very few have been greater than Ewen Bruneteau’s tough defense and tremendous work ethic. His teammates love him because of his unselfish play and ability to give his best effort every single possession. Keep up the great work, Ewen.
