The 2017 Lady Pistons summer basketball camp, presented by Kroger, got off to a great start on Monday at Birmingham Seaholm High School. The all-girls camp impressed the Pistons Academy coaching staff with their strong work ethic and high skill level. “We have a great group of girls this week! They really worked hard today and it was a lot of fun to get out there with them and show them a few things. I was very impressed with their collective effort and ability to focus on getting better,” said Camp Director Bryan Bollin.
Players were put through skill stations, participated in 5-on-5 games, and began earning points in the week long free throw competition and team 4-ball contest. MVP Points were also handed out throughout the day to the players who excelled in drills, hustled all day long, and provided incredible energy and enthusiasm. Hailey Kirkwood was named Player of the Day for her energy level throughout the day. Hailey’s excitement for each drill and portion of camp was off the charts today! She set a great example for the younger campers and challenged the older campers with her hustle and intensity.
Reminders: Camp will dismiss at 2:30pm each day this week. Basketballs will be on sale for $20 on Tuesday. The camp store will be selling Gatorade, water, and snacks for $1/each.
