The Pistons Academy Camp in Novi set the club record today with the largest camp in Pistons Academy History. “It was a historic day for sure,” said Camp Director Geo Thomas, “Not only with the 136 campers but in attitude, energy and enthusiasm. The kids are really respectful, work hard and seem to really enjoy being at camp!”
There were many familiar faces at camp from years past. Eva Khalil, Julia and Nathan Van Kirk, Mia Tanacea and Grace Quinn are just some of the “veteran campers” who know the drill. But with over 70 new campers, this week will for sure have a unique feel.
Most of the day was pre-season and skill building but a few events tipped off. In the White/Red Free-Throw Contest, Tyler Adams (11pts) has a one-point lead over three other sharp-shooters: Ali Davidson, Roman Boxman and Eito Sakashito. Point values will increase on Tuesday to 2+2+2+2+3. To view White/Red FT Scores, click here: FT Scoresheet
In the Platinum and Blue Divisions, three players have paced the contest with an impressive score of 11: Aidan Wagner, Noah Dues and Rina Nozawa. This appears to be a competitive contest and anything could happen by the time Friday’s bracket is set. To view these standings, click here: FT Scoresheet2
IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION: The Detroit Pistons have won three NBA Championships. Name the teams they have beaten to win those rings. If you know the answer, write it down on a 3×5 piece of paper and turn it in at check-in on Tuesday. Correct answers will be placed in a raffle for some cool Pistons Prizes!
