The Pistons Academy Basketball Camp has powered through four days of pre-season and regular season games and is now poised for some post-season play.  “This has been a fantastic week of camp,” said Camp Director Geo Thomas, “The kids have played through bumps and bruises and trades and all the ups and downs a season brings.  I think Friday is going to be a great final day of camp!

n the FT Contest, Our four #1 seeds are Abe Miller, Aiden Williams, Logan Milford and Brady Smith. Smith and Milford have vaulted their way up to the top of the standings and are ready to make a run at Miller who leads all shooters with 69 points.

Here are the campers who stood out on Thursday:

From Coach Sarah: Mack Reid:  I chose Mack because of how hard she is always working on the court.  When I asked her about her favorite part of camp she replied “I love the skill stations because they help me become a better all-around player.”  Mack is a 4th grader who will be trying out for the Pistons Elite 5th grade team in the fall!

From Coach Shay: My player of the day is Zackary Kazouz because he beat Coach Ben in Lightning.  Oh,and his favorite fruit is grapes!

From Coach Geo:  I really think all the campers are great and it is difficult to select just one.  Today I noticed the following:  Abe Miller was always willing to help out on the scoreboard.  Caitlin O’Guin really works hard in the stations.  Natasha Shell is always playing with a smile. Johnny Crissman never gives less than 100% and today wasn’t feeling well but played through it.  Samantha Bentley cheered the loudest for the campers in the All-Star 4-Ball game.  All great stuff!

TODAY’S IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION!
The Detroit Pistons now play their home games at LCA.  Before moving to LCA they played at the Palace.  Where did they play their home games before moving to the Palace in the fall of 1988?
Do you know where they played?  If so, write down the answer on a 3×5 piece of paper and the winner will receive a special prize from coach Geo (and parents will get a prize too)!  Turn in your answers at check-in on Friday.

CAMP STORE:  Will be open again on Friday.  All snacks and beverages are $1
