Success Starts With Sweat and even in the cool air-conditioned gym of Seaholm High School, our players are sweating as they work hard towards their goals!  Today, a few campers earned the attention of their coaches:

ANDREW ZAWAIDEH
4th GRADER – ST. REGIS
COACH:  JOEY BERLIN

Andrew was taking on a tough opponent today but was able to work hard and win the game.  He showed great leadership skills which helped his team stay focused and motivated…. Andrew likes playing basketball with his brothers when they are not in school.  His favorite part of the game is shooting!

BROOKS RAFFERTY
3RD GRADER – QUARTON
COACH: BETHANY MAC
Brooks was really strong on defense today and his competitive nature helped his team step up their defense.  “It was fun to watch him play D,” said Coach Beth Mac, “He really worked hard today.” … Brooks’ favorite player is Steph Curry and he thinks Golden State will win tonight!

MIKAIS MCKINNEY
3RD GRADER – BINGHAM FARMS
COACH: KATE NACHAZEL
Mikais showed great enthusiasm today at the morning skill stations.  “He was the first and loudest to respond at my station,” said Coach Kate, “When I asked who wanted MVP Points, he said “I do” the loudest.  He really worked hard today.”…  Mikais’s favorite Piston is Andre Drummond and his favorite coach is Coach Geo!

In other news, the White Division All-Star 4-Ball team was amazing Tuesday and pushed the Coaches to the Limit with their amazing shooting.  Dylan G, Caleb K, Phillip D and Alex G were on fire and it took Coach Dan to score three consecutive 5-point shots and a 5-point Bonus to beat the White All-Stars, 157-142.  However, their score may be high enough to reach the finals on Friday.  Well Done!

IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION:  Today, coach Geo told a “Soldier Story” about how training can come into play later in the season (or life).  The story focused on the lesson that “Even if you don’t understand something now, if you listen and learn, it could pay off in the future!”  TODAYS QUESTION:  In what year did the story start?  1952, 1962, 1972 or 1982?  Write your answer down on a 3 x 5 piece of paper and turn it in at the check-in desk.  All correct entries will be put into a raffle with winners receiving an Andre Drummond autographed hat!
