The Pistons Academy Camp at Franklin continued Wednesday with many more clutch performances and words of wisdom. “It doesn’t matter if you are in last place or in a slump,” said camper Buster Douglas, “It just matters that you have the courage to go up against the best and give it all you have.”
Another camper, Calvin Borel, agrees. “I feel like I am a 50-1 shot to win any race. But I am simply going to do my best and see if I can shock the world.”
“Upsets are born with confidence, hard work and a little bit of ego,” Said Camp Director Geo Thomas, “I love it when the little guy or the unknown delivers a first-rate effort and comes out on top.”
Joseph Namath, leader of his white division team has the confidence, “Our team is pretty good but nobody seems to be giving us a chance. We are working so hard as a team. I guarantee we will win the championship.” Namath’s 4-Ball team is Appalachian St. and consists of JJ Braddock, Mike Eruzione and a small sprinter nick-named Sea Biscuit. “We are all scrappers,” added Namath, “And I think we have the courage and work ethic to hang with anyone!’
With these attitudes, anything can happen as we move into Thursday’s events.
